📜 History of Discord Colored Text
Discord's support for ANSI color codes was discovered by the community in late 2021 when users found that the ```ansi code block would render escape sequences as actual colors. This feature wasn't officially announced by Discord - it was a byproduct of their syntax highlighting system.
Rebane's Discord Colored Text Generator was one of the first tools to make this feature accessible to everyone, inspiring many similar tools including this one.
The ANSI color codes Discord uses come from the Solarized color theme, originally designed for terminal applications. While Discord hasn't officially documented this feature, it continues to work on desktop and browser versions.
